Seoul's Welcome: How ETHGas and the Korean Community are Building Ethereum's Instant, Gasless Future
In October, we witnessed a powerful signal from the Korean Web3 community. Our newly-formed channels experienced rapid, organic growth, expanding to over 1,500 members in less than two weeks. The engagement was exceptional, filled with insightful questions, community-created content, and one clear, consistent message: a request for our team to visit Korea.
An Unforgettable Seoul Meet-up
In recognition of the community's engagement, we decided to host our first-ever official ETHGas meetup in Seoul.
The response was overwhelming. In less than one week, over 1,400 people registered for the event. The demand was so immense that community members created their own art and posts, asking to secure a spot. The event was shared organically by over 250 of Korea's top KOLs and bloggers, confirming the region's deep interest in solving Ethereum's core friction points.
Building Alliances, Sharing the Vision
After touching down in Seoul, we connected with our local partner, David from Assembly Labs, and dove straight into the ecosystem.
The main event was everything we hoped for and more. Our founder, Kevin, took the stage to a packed house, detailing the ETHGas vision: to build the realtime financial market for blockspace and power an instant, gasless Ethereum.
Following the presentation, we hosted a reception to connect directly with the community members who are integral to this journey. Their level of sophistication was off the charts. We weren't just talking at the community; we were strategizing with them. The quality of conversations and shared passion for the future of on-chain infrastructure was inspiring.
Forging the Future with Korea's Leaders
This trip was about more than just celebrating; it was about building. We had the privilege of meeting with some of the most important players in Korea's Web3 ecosystem to align on our mission:
- D’Cent: We met with the team behind Korea's largest hardware wallet to discuss security and user experience.
- Xangle & Tokenpost: We sat down with the leading research and media firms to share our vision and data-driven approach.
- Presto Labs & Korea Digital Asset (Koda): We connected with top-tier institutional players who understand the critical need for sophisticated blockspace markets.
This is Just the Beginning
Our week in Seoul was a powerful confirmation of our thesis. The mission to build a realtime, instant Ethereum is a global one, and the Korean market is a vital hub of innovation and adoption. We came to listen, build, and connect. We left with new partners, new friends, and a reinforced commitment to the region.
